Money at its core
"There is not enough money".
"Having money is selfish".
"Money does not buy happiness".
I grew up hearing these statements and I reckon you too.
Good or bad, they remained in the back of my mind living rent-free for a long time.
Until one day, I declared eviction to these thoughts and took control of my story.
It was a simple decision, but not a straightforward journey.
Years passed... Now I see how that mindset shift changed my life.
I wrote in my notebook:
"Money is an abundant resource. It flows where treated best".
"Money is a tool and we can use it to build positive and stronger relationships".
"Money allows you to create lasting memories which will most likely make you happy”.
How liberating that can be.
If I did it, you can do it.
Today I start tapping into a sensitive topic for many.
In a world driven by the pursuit of power, success and prosperity, money plays a big role.
The concepts of money, wealth, and freedom hold a profound influence over our lives.
Let's delve into the essence of these concepts and their intricate relationships.
Money serves as a medium of exchange, a unit of account, and a store of value.
It marks the transition from barter systems to complex economies.
It mirrors the dynamic nature of society, adapting to technological and economic shifts.
It embodies societal values and influences power dynamics.
It evokes emotions, desires, aspirations.
Money is king. Money is trash. Money is nice.
Money is a pure manifestation of human creativity.
“Money is a kind of poetry".
But, what is money for you?
The wheel that spins the world.
A web of transactions, the glue that binds us together.
A universal language that lessens our differences as love.
For me, money is energy, a powerful tool, a double-edged sword.
It can either unite or destroy... families, relationships, nations.
When used for good, it fosters advancement of individuals and society.
When used for bad... Well, history tells us the results of human stupidity.
In essence, it gives you opportunities, peace of mind, the power of choice.
It is the gateway to exceptional places, great people, and rare resources.
Once you understand this concept, you're on a recent paradigm shift.
Wealth is not about having things, holding tittles or a fat bank account. It's all about having choices.
Money Mindset
I know how it feels to be broke and how it feels to be in control of money.
What is the difference between these 2 worlds? The set of belief systems that you develop.
Our beliefs form the foundation of our lives, serving as the grounds to build our existence. They shape our behavior, decisions, and even our intellectual pursuits.
This is exactly what separates a master from a slave, a wannabe from an expert.
I learned the value of money through the lenses of scarcity.
Yet, it was the motivation I needed to pursue my desires and seek change.
Believe or not, my first venture was to make money by printing my classmates' homework.
Until one day I figured I could earn more by doing their homework, a fact I'm not proud of.
I took care of household chores; I tutored kids; I worked in a lab; I managed to work for 2 multinational companies.
Yes, I studied a lot; I worked hard; I invested resources in improving myself and my skills.
All these years of transformation led me to the person I am now and left me with one lesson:
Your earnings will evolve as much as your mindset.
Embracing a growth-oriented mindset is paramount to thrive in the digital era.
Financial literacy is not a luxury or a knowledge exclusive of rich families, it's a need to all.
Educate yourself on topics that interest you. Explore possibilities.
It does not matter whether it is money management, calisthenics, nutrition or writing.
Cultivating a positive mindset is crucial for achieving lasting prosperity.
"In the end, what separates a man from a slave? Money? Power? No, a man chooses, and a slave obeys".
Limiting Beliefs
What sets individuals apart in the world is their perception of money.
People struggle with limiting beliefs on their path to wealth and freedom.
"Money is the root of all evil". or "I am not meant to be wealthy".
We all heard these common misconceptions before. They can create self-imposed barriers in your brain. The well-known self-sabotage mechanism.
Oftentimes we've whispered to ourselves: "I don't have money... I can't afford this program... I'm not capable of this... and I can't do that ".
The underlying message here is "I'm not resourceful enough to create, attract money to my life". I know, it can make you feel helpless.
That's exactly the reason you need to alter the way you speak to yourself.
Your words hold immense power and can shape your reality.
It can either keep you prisoner of your own thoughts or propel you to create an abundant lifestyle.
When you repeat these words to yourself, they become your truth and you are bound by them. Life seems to pass by without your influence, as if on autopilot.
To break free, you must first identify and challenge these limiting beliefs.
Start by asking yourself, “Is this indeed the truth about myself and my reality"?
Implement positive affirmations and visualization to your daily routine. They can reframe negative thoughts.
Replace limiting beliefs with empowering affirmations,
"I am capable of creating wealth" or "Money allows me to contribute positively to the world."
The mindset shift from scarcity to abundance takes time. Nothing worthwhile happens overnight.
Be aware you’re building a brand new belief system.
Be patient, express compassion and gratitude to your journey and stay disciplined.
Resilience and adaptability are essential qualities on the pathway to financial freedom.
Okay, let’s wrap up this section with a quick recap:
Understand money's role.
Cultivate a positive mindset.
Identify and break limiting beliefs.
Replace old beliefs with new ones.
